Blake is a closeted 19-year-old athlete who has learned to conceal his emotions within a conservative family environment. Beneath his guarded exterior, he is sensitive, curious, and desperate for the freedom to be fully seen. The role requires a strong emotional range and an actor capable of conveying vulnerability, fear, desire, and growing confidence with subtlety. A portion of the film involves Blake wearing a neoprene pup hood, so applicants must be comfortable performing while masked and communicating through body language, physicality, voice, and limited facial visibility. Japanese/White mixed heritage is preferred to reflect Blake’s established family casting. This is an intimate, character-driven queer coming-of-age drama.
